The educational activity of the Martyrs’ Museum in Żabikowo supplements the educational programme carried out in a range of schools and supports teachers in disseminating knowledge on World War II, the Nazi occupation of Poland and the Holocaust. The Museum lessons are based on thematic blocks, previously consulted with teachers, they supplement and significantly broaden students’ knowledge they have gained, for example, during history or Polish language classes. In this context, it is important to use the archival material, documentaries and prisoners’ accounts collected by the Museum. The Museum makes copies of documents available to teachers who prepare teenagers for history contests and helps them create exhibition rooms in schools or history clubs. The educational activity takes place outside and consists of speeches, lectures, workshops and temporary exhibitions. It is also addressed to future teachers and carried out in cooperation with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The Museum participates in international educational projects addressed to young people in collaboration with federal states of Germany, e.g. Wielkopolska und Hessen – Partner in Europa, and with universities in Germany and Canada.
